“Imago Dei” (Latin for “Image of God”) is a collection of photographs depicting individuals partially obscured by shadows in a studio setting. The shadow placements are meant to highlight specific anatomical details while subtly referencing the ancient statue busts of first-century Rome. This series showcases an indisputable truth found in Psalms 139:14: you were fearfully and wonderfully made. In this day and age, it is important to remember that, like a great sculptor, God has created each person with intentional design, and He takes pride in His work. All blemishes, wrinkles, and what society considers “imperfections” are all considered beautiful in the Lord’s sight.
