Open internationally, of 2,241 submissions, 438 entries were shortlisted. Only of which 38 works of students were selected - CBU Photography having 14 of them.

Juliette Doan’s entry, Nighttime Grocery, has been selected as one of the 25 Teen Photographers to win the Getty’s Unshuttered Open Call.

Getty received over 2,800 submissions from teenagers residing in 134 cities throughout California, all of which underwent a thorough review and consideration process. A panel of judges selected twenty-five winning photographers.

Nighttime Grocery, A spectrum of shopping. When we were younger, we used to spend our money on toys and sticker vending machines. Adolescents spend money on claw machines. He stops to shop in the toy vending machine while his mother shops for meat, veggies, canned foods, and many other items in the grocery store. Another quarter has come and gone.

Unshuttered is a photography-based initiative that provides a platform for learning, sharing, and other opportunities for teens, young people, and teachers across the country. Since its inception, Unshuttered has offered a photography intensive program for teens, an app for sharing photographs and skill-building, a nationwide contest for original photographs from young artists, lesson plan resources for high school educators, and exhibitions at Getty and online.
