Arier Randolph
Hair, clothing, jewelry, and other cultural markers serve as powerful symbols of self-expression. Through this project, Randolph explores their deeper meanings and significance. The work was born from a desire to better understand the distinct cultures that shape her identity. This experience has given her a unique perspective while also sparking curiosity about how these cultures interact and shape who she is.
Through visual storytelling, Randolph captures moments she has personally experienced or witnessed to examine how culture influences identity. Understanding and appreciating cultural heritage allows her to connect more deeply with her roots and recognize how they have shaped her worldview. Through this work, Randolph invites viewers to reflect on their sense of belonging and to explore and discover their identities.
