“Ethereal Canvas,” by Chloe C. Heustis, aims to incorporate classical concepts into modern photography to provoke thought and curiosity. Leaning into experimentation. As an artist, Chloe does not like to limit herself to a singular medium, and its rules, art, and story are not limited to one mode—why should she be limited? Through her work, she aims to show conceptual art that makes people think and ask questions, to make them engage with the piece in a way that sparks others to imagine, think, and wonder. Her greatest passion is storytelling, writing, photographing, acting, and creating. All of these are story forms that grip our imagination and take our souls on journeys to explore parts of humanity we otherwise cannot go. Humanity has many parts—expression, emotion, philosophy, religion, etc.

Classical painters were not afraid to show the different facets of mankind, both the lovely and the vile, but in a way that leaves us in wonder and awe. The “greats” created new styles because they experimented. Sometimes, ideas pan out, and sometimes, they do not. An endeavor to also use her work as one large experiment.
