Katelin Bates explored different small businesses whether they were within the owner’s home or workspace, and documented what a typical day would look like for them. Including a blend of environmental portraits as well as detail photos that show unique and interesting aspects of their business. While photographing, it was important to keep the conversation going whether it was about them personally or their business, and led to finding more things within their business, about them, and building a deeper relationship. Through this ongoing project, Katelin wants to continue to amplify the voices of these small businesses and why they are so important.
