In her project “Layers of Femininity,” Eileen Solorzano explores the nuances of feminine identity. She plays visually with what happens when external layers of feminine identity are shed, revealing the vulnerability also held in female identity. Together, these distinct layers coexist to form an intricate tapestry of character and identity beyond what is physically present. Through fashion photography, Solorzano uses casting and fashion styling to convey the complex nature of the internal feminine identity of all people. Through the composition, subject postures, and color toning, these photographs reflect the interior space where the feminine identity is formed, where people find out who they are at their inner core.
