Something Worth Missing, is a photographic project studying the personal relationships of people in relationships that cannot be with each other in person for periods of time. Most people dedicate a good portion of their lives to one thing: love. But what happens when someone cannot be close to the person they love? Long-distance relationships have become well-known, but most people find it challenging to live apart from those they love. My goal is to assist people in understanding how and why they have personally pursued and continued these relationships, even given their circumstances. I have created a series of photos of people in long-distance relationships and included writings from each person about their thoughts on their specific relationship. These people have experienced a long-term relationship that spans anywhere from cities away to continents away. Their handwritten notes hold the thoughts most people feel but are not allowed to share.
