Keilah Isabella Diaz

Through “Lack Of,” Keilah Isabella Diaz photographically explores the concept of deadpan as a season of life. Deadpan leans into one’s natural relaxed state; it’s who a person is without the mask they wear in their day-to-day lives. Diaz photographed the sitters as naturally as possible, with little to no emotion. Diaz’s own process through a deadpan season led her to this work, which has been a cathartic acknowledgment of a felt lack of motivation. Through the use of light-created shapes, natural poses, and a relaxed tone Diaz has created a series that embodies the attributes of this season of her life.
