Jordan Mora

Jordan Mora is a photographer who lives and works in San Bernardino, California. Jordan has always been fascinated by the camera - at a young age, her Grandpa would regularly buy her disposable cameras. She is inspired by photographic artists Jeanette May, Maciek Miloch, Joe Saraceno, and Laura Baiardini because their still life work is beautifully stylized and demonstrates an exquisite use of light.

The main subject of Mora's work is 1980’s nostalgia pop culture which is crucial to her because she was raised listening to 80's music and watching popular cult films. She has always been so fascinated by the 80's pop culture era that she wishes that she was born during that time to experience it first hand. Jordan’s photographic process consists of styling a cinematic scene with 80's props to tell a story through still life images. The ideal exhibition space for her work is a gallery because Jordan would present large printed imagery with a colorful background that would resemble a bedroom with pictures from the 1980s (celebrities, bands, etc.).
